this is a real german rap classic album. stieber wins are martin (marshal mar aka martin Jekyll) and christian (luxus chris aka christian hyde) from heidelberg. active in the hip hop scene since 1983 and producing hip hop music since 1992. their first well known hit called “rap and hiphop” they released on the legendary album “the sound of mzee”. stieber twins have very criticful lyrics against the hip hop business and they’re very respected in the german scene.

check this album and listen to some of the pioneers of german rap.

gang starr - code of the streets (1994, 12")

time for classics. 1st single i want to present you is from the legendary gang starr group. originally from boston, gang starr was founded in 1986 by guru. crew members were dj 1,2 b down, mike dee and various producers such as donald d. or mark the 45 king.

in 87' and 89' they released 3 singles on the legendary wild pitch label.

the group split in 1989 and only guru wanted to continue under the name gang staar.
soon dj premier (then known as waxmaster c) joined gang starr.

actually it's not sure if gang starr is still existing.

one of my favourite song is "code of the streets" from their 94' album "hard to earn".

r.a. the rugged man. what a great rapper, yeah!
signed with 18 at jive records as part of the group "crustified dibbs". biggie smalls once was quoted as saying: "i thought i was the illest" reffering to r.a.

i heard he has also signed a book deal to explore his love of boxing announced for this year.

"die rugged man die" is an independent release. he hates major labels and they hate him.

stones throw is one of my favourite music label.
founder is peanut butter wolf (dj & producer)
i think he got one of the most amazing vinyl
collection - perhaps better than mine.













madlib (the bad kid) aka dj rels aka beatconducta
aka lord quas is the most famous st artist.
madlib is also part of madvillain (together with mf doom)
and was part of the legendary jaylib (together with
jay dee aka j dilla who died in 2006)

other artists from stones throw are wildchild, dj romes
(together with madlib > lootpack), egon, james pants,
j.rocc, oh no (madilib's brother), aloe blacc, georgie ann muldrow or dudley perkins.

my first vinyl i present you is the "ten years" lp with
the best years of the last ten years. a great album
with various st artists. gives a good impressions
about the different style of sf sound.
